Sanchez Admin has fired, and has pushed many employees out of the Unit for their poor excuses and incompetence to assist and help the staff. They have let go over half the Maintenance staff. They seek too much control and have become inflexible, and rigid. Admin have lost their ability to be receptive and adaptive to the problems and to staff concerns within the Unit.

There is no longer any soap being provided in the staff restrooms anymore. The only one with soap is the administration male staff restroom. There is zero excuse for not providing soap. Let's start with that.

As for the original question and poll topic; sure incompetence is excusable! If an entire generation of Babyboomers (20 years worth) suck ricks of cocks to earn their positions you can't blame them for being incompetent. They were simply playing by the rules of the game.

The practice became more prevalent during the baby boom; later generations should share some of the credit/blame. Personally, I do best with getting that type of entertainment from the generations on both sides of the x generation.

What's worse - incompetence or complacency?

Stupidity takes the number one spot for me. I think you can educate the stupid and you can correct incompetency, but there is nothing you can do with complacency. If someone is complacent then it is their way of life and if you are complacent when you work around convicts it can get people killed. As a former manager I would severely punish complacency, but I would try to salvage the stupid and the incompetent (within reason).

Well, Officer Gonzalez was an excellent Officer, but he got stressed, stepped on, and yelled at till he threw in the towel and quit. Sgt Ramirez needed time off for reason his wife would be staying at the hospital. He was being so stressed out by management till he quit. Ms Trevino showed up at the Unit and told the Officers in Special Management how clean the area looked. For the next few days during shift turnout it was being anounced that Ms Trevino had said how dirty Special Management was. One Officer after hearing this from mangement decided to retire early. If these is Stupid, Please someone have the balls to teach the Stupid, if these is complacency Please someone FIRE them!

There is no doubt that some people have been promoted beyond their capacity and competency. Furthermore, there is no doubt that there are some of these people who, due to their very nature and personality traits, are UNTRAINABLE. I have worked with, and avoided working with, many people like this over the years. What I have found, and will preach to anyone who will listen, is that YOU have to be responsible for YOURSELF. YOU have to grow some thick skin. YOU have to let the bullshit roll off of your back. YOU have to GROW SOME BALLS. I have worked with some administrators who would NOT respect you unless you dropped your nuts on them. This is not an attack on the staff you mentioned. It's only some friendly advice that I have used myself over the years. I have worked for some real ASSHOLES over the years. And, I'm still here. You gotta learn to work with whoever you have as an administrator/supervisor. And, unfortunately, there are some folks who aren't willing to do that, or can't do that. So, they leave. Do we need better training for supervisors? YES, absolutely. Will it make a difference? YES, it can. Will it make a difference on ALL of them? NO, not by a long shot.

I know that many, if not most times when the results of a board were announced,(esp in the last few years), that I had already heard around the unit, or just had a very good idea myself, who was going to be selected. The good ole boy system has never lost traction as far as I could tell. Many, again, if not most times, I have wished I could have been a fly on the wall and watched the proceedings. I sure it was a circus of entertainment. I also have thought many times just how I would have felt had I gone up for a promotion and gotten beat out by the idiots they choose. Talk about taking the lead out of your pencil, now that would do it. Rank is kinda like the medical profession. We expect good things, but you know some doctor had to finish at the bottom of his class, and how do we know which one? The supervisors probably will not show much improvement in the years to come, due to lack of inducement for promotion. The pay differential is not enough for the responsibility increase. Just the nature of the beast. Morale seems to be at an all time low, and I don't have any ideas as to how to improve it. Oh well, retirement seems to have made it worth while. At least for me!

Get rid of 01, 02, and the kiss ass of 04 and all would get better. Tjey attack those that are not afraid of them. All they want are kisses asses and yes men. I have heard one officer say if I wouldn't kiss their face what makes them think I would kiss their ass. We need more people to stand up and not be afraid.
