I was just accepted to the academy and also received the paperwork. I'm confused, on what to get. Can I get all at Wal-mart, or Academy? Are t-shirts acceptable or only collard shirts, any suggestions on pants I read shorts are also not acceptable and jogging pants are. What running/training (all black shoes) are acceptable, I understand they have to have a shine surface in order to polish them. My agility test is in two weeks so I appreciate all the help and tips. Is the agility test hard?? Thank you in advance.

How long did it take from the time you applied? I've been waiting about 13 weeks now.

Sorry for the late reply. I applied on July 7 and I had to fax other paperwork, about two weeks after the 7th, and I just got the call this Saturday. I called and the administrator and she told me that the scheduler was out of town. I asked if my background was completed and she said that it was. She said when the scheduler gets back from she'll call me to give me my academy date and heard a few days later. Good luck!

Oh wow sorry guy, is the facility you applied for understaffed? On my application, I put I was available the same day I took the exam, which why they might have also completed my paperwork quicker. Thank you, I'm ready to get started, nervous about the PAT.

Curious CO2B Guest: I'm assigned to McConnell Unit. What's the word on this unit. What unit are you at?
bobothebeaten: On my packet only navy and black are allowed, but they have to be collard, right? Do you know if exercise clothing is acceptable?

I would wear comfortable cargo pants, similar to our class B uniform pants. Shirts should be collared. You'll need a black belt for uniform pants. Black polish-able shoes or boots for uniform wear. I like boots. So, I wear comfortable boots.
The PAT test is not real difficult. I have bad knees, and pass yearly with good scores.

I haven't heard back from HR yet. The last time I called I was told my file was with the scheduler and would be called within a few weeks.
I am hoping to get on a unit in Gatesville or Marlin. So I'm sure it varies on what unit you've allied to work for and the available slots there.

Yes that's true the scheduler told me there was one spot left for my 1st choice. Also make sure that you are able to accept unknown/private numbers on your cellphone or landline. They call from an unknown. Keep your head up, they'll call! Use this time to get in shape and work on the PAT listed by Bobothebeaten: The physical agility test and scoring guidelines are provided below. To successfully complete the test, you must accumulate 75 points. They will tell which Days you will need to wear "PT" apparel... Until you get Uniforms...Collared Shirts/Blouses...Stay away from "WHITE". No Logos, No Slogans, just plain and a single color Loose fitting Pants...again Comfortable. Comfortable Shoes...Remember your gonna be using them all day..Solid Black Color no Logos...

Collared shirts and jeans are fine for the class. Wing suit or jogging pants and a t shirt and tennis shoes is fine for agility. You will need black boots. Non steel toed that are polishable. You can buy some at Walmart or Academy. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.
