Hello all. I'm new here but used to work for TDCJ back in the 90s, opening up the Gist right across the street. Man, I read this in the paper and thought I'd drop my condolences to the officer that was stabbed. I wish him a speedy recovery and hope that inmate gets his overdue karma on that deal. Looks like not much has changed since my days. My best to all you guys and gals.

We got an update on Officer Logan from Warden Roesler yesterday. He went to see Officer Logan. Officer Logan's eye lid involuntarily is closed. He doesn't have good muscle control of the lid or eye yet. Also, where he had numbness on his forehead above the eye is now feeling tingly. They believe it's part of the healing process. Officer Logan is in good spirits. He can see light and dark with the eye, and is hopeful his site will come back. Officer Logan was stabbed with a 4 inch pencil that went in between the eye ball and the socket rim at the bottom of the left eye.
This should show everyone that you cannot underestimate any offender. And, ANYTHING can be used as a weapon. So be careful out there.

Yes anyting can and will be used as a weapon. And yet we walk in dayrooms that have razors on every table for cutting art work or officers. Can lids so they can cut stuff for the spread or officer. We just don't think of these offenders as bad people most of the time. Pick up stuff that can hurt you. I know pencils and pens they can have but get what you can and be careful of the rest. BE SAFE
