the other day i worked visitation with a" officer" who is new to the unit. during a short period of no offenders this employee came to inform me that we are just like the offenders but we just havent been caught. well i just about threw up and told this person F-You your full of shit. some of these people have no clue what is going on in front of them. i guess they figure if the offenders dont bother them then let them do what they want. far from where this fella came from. so i ask ya'll is this the future of corrections just ignore the offenders activities and just get along. kinda like being invisable but you still get paid. well if this is the way i gotta go.

Lots of newer co's think that way. I remember comments comming fron offenders like tat and I guess the nw co has bought into this. To bad cause I am sure I am nothing like these offenders.

Sad state of affairs. Makes you wonder if that CO either has a RAP sheet or are they conducting illegal activities and that was a borderline confession? oldtimer87 jesus alvarado clemens unit

I used to hear the convicts say that way back in the day. They and that officer are full of chit. Damn shame the convicts got some of the officers believing that now day's. I'm sure glad I won't have to be worrying with all that BS here in a few months.

Sounds like the POS in the original post was speaking from personal experience.

Ive also had inmates tell me the same thing. We all know its b.s., but I would always tell them that that they are right, but they are wrong about one thing. "I am different than you. Im smarter because I didnt get caught!" My issue lately are seeing all these officers laughing and talking with inmates for long periods of time. They are so friendly and dont have a back bone.

I see Offenders Doing what ever they want in Front of Officers not even waiting to try and do it behind their Backs anymore..officers just standing a few feet away and watching

Why are you telling inmates that you have committed crimes, but you're smarter because you haven't been caught? You are doing as much damage as you claim others are doing. How about just not telling inmates anything related to personal issues. Inmates will be patient and extract information in very small increments before you even realize what they're doing. Your life outside the prison is no ones business especially if you're committing crimes, but just haven't been caught.

Why Just yesterday I had an Offender tell several Officers that a SGT was Hospitalized and hope we don't end up in the Hospital also because we were sick..
I wonder who told him that the SGT was sick and in the Hospital?

TDCJ was lost the day it began calling inmates "Offenders."

If a convict is anywhere around, they are listening. An officer may not tell an offender directly. An officer may have been just talking with another officer. But, if the convict is within hearing range, it will be all over the unit in a matter of minutes.
