I doubt if she has ever handcuffed an inmate.

I doubt if she has ever handcuffed an inmate. ;D You're right. She came up through classification. But, I gotta tell you after her being my immediate supervisor for several years that she knows her business. She don't play. She will question you about policy, discuss things with you. She doesn't shy away from debating an issue. She will do what she feels is best, and within policy. She's not scared to make a decision. And, she'll stand by her decisions. She backed me up on several occasions with my decisions. Sometimes I thought her cajone's were bigger than the men I was working with. Not only that, but she CARES about her people. She genuinely CARES about your well being. That's more than I can say for a bunch of wardens I've worked with over the years. She's also a family oriented person, with a family of her own. So she understands when a person has family issues come up. She was always very understanding with me. I've worked with a few female wardens over the years. Some I thought were royal ass holes, didn't know shit, and hated them. Warden Burgess isn't like that. I enjoyed working with her. She takes care of business.

Well then- we need more like her. Time will tell. You know how it is sometimes when someone makes warden. They sometimes change, and get the big head. I hope she doesn't change. I sure enjoyed working with her.

she's alright. some of her decisions as a warden is stupid. and as far as the officers she seems like she really doesn't care about them.. but it's only been a few weeks.. let's see how she is after two months.

she's alright. some of her decisions as a warden is stupid. and as far as the officers she seems like she really doesn't care about them.. but it's only been a few weeks.. let's see how she is after two months. I heard ya'll better have the chairs all lined up in turnout, and you better not be eating, drinking, just listening! lmbo. AND, ya'll better stay out of the front office area, even on visitation. ;D I chuckled about that when I heard it. If that's all she has to mess with ya'll about you're doing good. She's just like any other new warden, feeling her way through things. She wants to make an impact on the unit that's positive. And, EVERY warden has their own idea's of how things should be. She is no different. She won't back off of a debate either. I pissed her off more than a few times. But, even though she was really mad at me she never retaliated against me. She NEVER once held a grudge against me. She always took care of me, and anytime I needed anything she was there for me. So, even though there were times we didn't see eye to eye she was great to work for. And, I like to think we were a good team in the regional office.
