Does anyone know if El Paso or McAllen have high turnover rates? I'm thinking of transferring to one of them.

I have a friend who was STG at ElPaso. I believe he made lieutenant, but not sure. I'll have to ask him. He seems to like it out there.

Thanks. Yeah my unit demobilized at Ft. Bliss and I was kissing the ground there. It's a beautiful area.

For CO's, to get to El Paso it is about 5 year waiting list including the 1 year contract you sign to take the bonus. (The next closest units to El Paso -- Lynaugh/Ft. Stockton are bonus farms) From what I hear the waiting list is in the triple digits (100+) The higher up you go on the list the slower it moves. For instance, to get from 60 to 20 might take a year but to get from 20 to 1 might take 2+ years.

Is the waiting lists so long because the unit is a great place to work? Or, because it's a desirable area to live in? Or both.
