They won't remove it but it is definitely possible to get rehired. I know because i also had a no-rehire status with tdcj and after 6 years of getting turned down i finally was able to talk with the new region director because the decision is up to that person and she let me go back. I just put in my app 2 weeks ago and already got a response. Just waiting on the scheduling person to call and let me know when i start the training academy. My thing is just dont give up and know the right person to talk to which is the director of the region you are seeking to work in. THEY HAVE THE LAST SAY SO!

How do I get in contact with my region director ? I quit in lieu of being fired after failing a drug test I can re apply after 5 years it’s been almost 2 years and I want to fight it. I didn’t write anything when given my disciplinary after I quit I just signed and accepted it since I had quit and was brought in the wardens office for my supposed exit interview.

All of the Regional Directors are clearly identified on the the TDCJ website. As far as being rehired after failing a TDCJ drug test, the answer to that one is absolutely a big 'ol NOPE. TDCJ doesn't want any dope smoking, snorting, shooting or popping bosses around their convicts. Dropping the mic... LOL

Back in 08 after working a few years being the dumb kid I was I got caught changing the date on a doctors note to get time off work and a break from all the mandatory overtime. Feeling like I could find a better job days after I went and quit while I was under investigation pending disciplinary. Of course I was unable to find that miracle job and was back trying to reapply a few months later and of course was denied. I went a pulled a copy of my personnel file and found I have a no rehire document signed by the warden (same guy that begged me to stay and told me I was making a mistake). I have been reapplying every year since and have been denied every time even after almost 8 years. I was hoping someone on here might have some experience with something like this or at least know what I could do? Thanks. I had that in my file and got rehired. I reapplied 3 times and got denied. The 3rd time I applied I got denied again. What I did was call and speak to the warden. I talked to him over and over. I also got a hold of the reginal director. I told them both that I wanted to come back and how bad I wanted too. Well 3 months later I get a call saying that they are working on my file and it should be done in about a week. I put in alot of time and hard work to get my job back. From the time I first re-applied to now it took almost 3 years.
