I got fired over Medical Issues...Yea I am pissed, however I can hold my head high knowing the truth, It was not over something I could control or be ashamed of. I ain't gonna argue over that fact I got fired because it wasn't for the reason they said it was for... I know in my heart I worked my ass off for TDCJ. I know at times they put me somewhere because they had something that had to get accomplished
When I worked HS/ECB I did my rounds, I did My Rec, I feed by myself. I made sure they got Hair Cuts, I did my Shakedowns
When I worked AD SEG I did not move stuff, I didn't buy Rec and Showers....I went to GP after an Offender flat out told a Supervisor move me today or we kill him today...
When I went to nights GP..I worked Medium Custody 18 Months straight...except during a Kitchen Rotation, so I know about working a spot all the time.
In GP I worked hard also. And Yes Offenders didn't like me because I walked around, I did my Cell searches. I never refused a position, I never refused to work with anyone...and Officers didn't like me either for the same reasons. I had picket bosses lock me out of the sections because they needed to rest in the picket, They got mad at me on Medium custody because I strip searched every offender per policy going to meals. I never sat in the Closet and filled out my cell search logs, I never stood outside of a Cell while 2 SSIs and a Cellie packed up an Offender who was locked up on the New Cameras.
I volunteered for Kitchen Rotation in ECB and was told I didn't have enough time in....Irony less than two weeks later I was moved into a rotation for the officer assigned the Rotation who broke their leg and spent that rotation and the next one and half of the next rotation in the Kitchen in ECB.
I did 5 GP Rotations in the Kitchen all voluntary because no one else wanted to do 90 day rotations.
Multiple times I refused to leave a duty post until night shift had a second person show up on a POD or DORM while everyone else left..and I ain't talking about a few minutes...sure I could have left a CO1 with 4 Days experience on a Dorm locked inside a Picket like others did, but I didn't.
Telling the truth ain't Negativity...
Even after I was fired I "recruited" people for TDCJ....Several Months later they are starting to say...Now they see what I was talking about out there. Seeing the true TDCJ. I still tell people to try working at the Prison...just go in with open eyes. I tell them it ain't as easy as everyone says and just know it ain't for everyone. and Contrary to what everyone says about the pay...NO WHERE and I will yell this again...NO WHERE in Texas can you expect to start at $2000 a month, and No where do you get 4 Day Weekends every Weekend. And No where can you get as many Days off with Comp and Holiday time. and never have to take vacation.
I repeatedly asked to go to training and never got to go anywhere.
Never once did I ever claim to be perfect, I never claimed I did work I did not do, I never did I claim I did everything by policy 100%....and I admitted to being guilty on every disciplinary I ever was guilty of.. Twice
And there just might be a few that would say...I am just telling the truth..
I have said it before and I will say it again..I have never said anything on here that I would not say in a court of law...
Army33wife...Would you admit to saying this to a jury ""I REFUSE to allow this. I place that officer there until they become the best or they are disciplined out the door for substandard duty performance."" and feel 100% confident that they would not find that Harassment? Do you believe that this is the best way to train an Officer? Do you tell them this outright when placing them in a constant rotation?
