Anyone work on both a big farm and a small one? Any differences that stick out. I'm on a small farm and I'm going to a big one ( Robertson unit in Abilene). Offenders and officers say things are SOOOO different on a big farm. Just lookin for any info y'all have.

Small farms micro manage the officers since they have the time. Nothing really happens so they look more closely at what you are doing, how your uniforms look, etc.
Larger farms are more about you showing up and doing your job.

Yea, admin tends to focus more on staff than inmates on the smaller units. The larger units have more going on with the inmates, so they tend to leave staff alone more. Things like UOF, fights, riots, industry, maintenance, adseg.....etc, on a big farm usually take priority. Whereas, on a small farm there isn't much of that. Less activity with inmates means the admin focus more on staff. Shucks, it gives them something to do. Just come to work and keep yourself straight and no worries.
