That's the way it should be done, EVERY time. Yes it should be.. When I first started it was that was... No Offenders out at All.. Every Department and every Shift sent people to the Main Kitchen to make Johnnies and Clean up..And I mean everyone..Wardens down. Johnnies for every department..24 Hour Production... Mailroom, Personel, Maintenance. I remember Assistant Warden Mooneyham standing on a Milk crate to wash pots and Pans..because he was so short he couldn't reach into the sink otherwise.. Majors Made PBJ Sandwiches. Somewhere along the years we lost that work ethic.... Officers Manned the Brooms and Mops on the Pods.. No Laundry Service No Dayroom No Commissary No Visitation No Days officers get Offenders out and Hand out extra Johnnies

Now days there's too much coddling of these thugs going on. They get on the phone in the dayrooms, call their mommy or daddy or significant other, who then calls the warden and Huntsville to bitch. And, then the warden calls the lieutenant or captain, and then you can guess what happens. I've said from the beginning the dam OTS was a bunch of bullshit. They don't need to call whining to their mommies and daddies. They need to grow up, and get right.

Heaven forbid we hurt the thugs feelings. Can you tell I hate feel good rehabilitation crap. It doesn't work, and it's never worked. I see the same inmates return year after year, even after attending the feel good rehab crap. It's a waste of tax payer money.

Too much coddling of staff too. The whole world has changed. Yeppp The Excuse for Rolling Lock downs...So Officers and Staff didn't have to make Johnnies and Clean the Pods.. Too Many People calling in during Lock downs (way before Call in problems everyday) because they did not want to work.. Certain people never got sent to the Kitchen to make Johnnies...and Certain People Always had to clean Pods. Before I was on Shakedown. I never got assigned to the Shakedown in the Gym or where ever it was in a Department. I always got that Pod everyday when I was on a Shift. When that department was finished I got Johnnie Duty Everyday. When I was on Shakedown Team they never wanted me there. While the rest of the Shakers had mere minutes to go through Property the Shakedown was on the Warden's Dime, we could take as long as we wanted. I would watch Offenders and see who moved in line to avoid us and go pick them out to be searched. I hear The New Senior Warden is actually letting them use the 2.0 Boxes again. Hope That lasts. While people want to blame Huntsville for the stopping of their use, I must admit, I agree totally agree with their reasoning. So True, If Officers are not enforcing the 2.0 Property rule everyday then we should not be enforcing it at Lockdowns as a punitive measure. It is Officers responsibility everyday to enforce the rules. Officers are the ones who allow Offenders to accumulate so much property that they need 3 or 4 Offenders to help them carry stuff down to Shakedown area or even Carts to get it there.

After football games, or just about any other time, I'd watch the commissary line. Anybody buying two bags worth of shit got hit to see if they could store it properly. I also watched for the ones buying more than two pints of ice cream, or more than two ice cream treats of any kind. I'd follow them. There were a few who tried to eat them all, but a lot of them melted. It didn't take long and they waited to pay off their debts when I wasn't there. They hated seeing me around the commissary line, with red sacks in my pocket and a clip board with confiscation sheets on it.
One there was a particularly dumb convict who came to me after another inmate had multiple pints, and let them all melt while I was watching them in the dorm. The convict explained to me, "Sarge, that bitch owes me two pints for losing the Dallas game. And, I needs my pints!". LMBO, REALLY??!! They both then got gambling cases for self admitting. They both ended up with 30 days commissary restriction, and cell restriction. LOL, I never had another one come to me with that bullshit.
