I have to say that the officer and young sergeant at Vance handled the situation with the greatest amount of poise and professionalism, of the three examples. I've seen Internet chatter complaining about Nigerian officers. The two at Vance dispel those. As big of a pain in the ass this guy is, just like inmates perform a valuable service by probing and revealing weaknesses in security, so to this guy. KeeganWynneVance

Yea, the guy is a prick. He's definitely a pain in the ass. However, as long as he is on a public road near the unit he has the right to be there. And, he has the right to video whatever he wants from there. There is no laws against it. Once he steps onto the prison property we can ask him to leave the property. They should just wait for him to leave, then search the area where he was. Getting into a confrontation with him is not a good idea. The staff should know the laws that affect them. They should also know where the actual property lines are, and where they have the right to ask someone to leave. Some of our staff did not look very good, or knowledgeable in the videos.
I hear complaints about Nigerian officers as well. However, my experience with them is that most are doing the best they can and are just trying to make a living like the rest of us. I have worked with a lot of good officers from a lot of different countries. I got no complaints.

It appeared in Vance & Wynne that none of the officers understood the bounds of their authority, although the officer & sergeant at Vance got ahead of the curve pretty quickly. Maybe whoever was on the other phone gets the real credit, although the sergeant and officer still handled it well.
With Keegan they didn't say enough to be able to tell. Although the retard on the roof spoke volumes.
I kept hoping that the major at Wynne was going to calmly and professionally tell the guy that they received a report of someone out by the highway and were obligated to investigate. Because, inmates maintain that area and inmate associates frequently leave contraband for inmates at public roadsides etc. Please stay on the highway right-of-way and don't cross over onto prison property and have a nice day. These should be used as training videos while drilling in the exact boundaries of an officer's authority when dealing with the public.

Hilarious... Keegan Video. Nice they Picked the Best Officers in Great Shape to be seen on Camera.. Loved the Sniper on the Roof...Had him in the Crosshairs... Wonder who the Officer in the Class B was...Couldn't tell because "No Name Tag"
Wynne Unit...No Uniform Name Tags
Vance Unit>>>The Officer was Armed and standing all the time with his Hand in his Pocket...Must be Quick Draw Macraw..

Homeland Security. Probably some high ranking Mexican cartel member or some Dallas jihadi doing state time there and they are getting information from him to work off potential federal charges. Or, it could simply be joint training. Here is some good footage of the Walls. The weather looks like Paradise compared to here in Yankeeville. www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7g7Fp2M00I

The Videos do illustrate a Major Issue TDCJ has.... The Videos shows how the Units have been surrounded by Growth and even one they talk about the Value of the land and TDCJ wanting to sale of the Land.
Talks about TDCJ needing to build in more Rural Areas to get away from society.

TDCJ doesn't just buy land to put units on. The land gets donated in a deal with local governments usually. The local governments know that having a prison unit near them will boost their economy. Most all of the units built in the 90's had deals like that. I would imagine the older units probably obtained land in a similar fashion. I doubt seriously that the state actually purchased land at market value for any of them.

That explains why so many are built practically on municipal airport runways. Then I look at some of the locations and I wonder if the land would have any market value at all aside from mineral rights. That place south of Ft. Stockton, and the one east of Pampa come to mind.

Those places needed a serious boost in their economy. The deals sort of backfired on TDCJ. What I mean by that is that those area's are hard to staff. Few people want to live out in the middle of nowhere. Yet, with an oil boom, housing was hard to find for staff in the area's. It's a double edged sword.

A Friend Built a Home just Outside City here..Had to pay $5000 to run a Water Supply line out towards his house and Tap it.. Had Not even started to bury it when City came out and started digging and installing new Water Line to the Prison off of What he had to just paid to install.

It's one of the benefits of living in a state where you don't have to pay income taxes! If government can't take your money straight on and in your face, they have to find another way...

Talked to my staff about this one. Our warden mentioned a protest in Austin recently near a unit. Anyone hear about that one?

Any Idea when...
I do know that they always seem to have "Vigils" outside during Execution..
And there was something awhile back about an Offender on Death row...that all evidence pointed to a Cop actually committing the Crime. Cop was sent to prison over other crimes similar to one the Offender was charged with. Cop knew the Vistim also. But on in Austin Near a Unit..No
Blue and Grey are taught to lie..... What one lie covers all TDCJ Uses of Force..... "I feared for my Life" like Mastercard, you never leave home without it.....But so Many are getting caught up with Cameras these days...That is when there is not a Glitch in the system. If someone wants to plan and Escape..all you need is Google Maps....I have never been to any Units except Montford in the dead of Night....But I could know exactly where to be sitting Outside away from the Unit to pick up an Escapee. Never once ever having photographed a UNit or drove around it.
Hell we had a New Prisoner use Google to plan cigarette drops at one of the Community Work Squads location without ever seeing it because of Google Maps. Why did we know, because the Fishery people told us on Shakedown team about a vehichle that was seen out there before Work crew arrived.
