Thats the way I will retire, in the wind. But its a crying shame that a boss that gives it all and retires gets NOTHING. A warden that leaves gets a lunch and a shotgun or pistol or some other gift. Its WRONG that we the people of TDC let it happen. Don't go to the wardens dam,n suck up lunch and make fsure your co worker gets at least a good bye.....

Our Unit had a warden that was here for less than 2 yrs and when he left the suck ups threw him a huge going away party. Another of our wardens who has been here less than 2 yrs had a birthday and the suck ups threw him a party (on the unit) and brought enough food to feed a small town. When an officer has a birthday on our unit no one cares and they usually have to work because they cant get the day off. We have had several officers with 25yrs plus service retire lately and not so much as a thank you was given to them.

When an officer has a birthday on our unit no one cares and they usually have to work because they cant get the day off. We have had several officers with 25yrs plus service retire lately and not so much as a thank you was given to them. That's just how it is. In my Division it depends on your personal relationship with the top bosses. When one of their friends retires they will send out an e-mail that describes all the retirees accomplishments from the time they were born until the day they retire. If you're on the shit list no one will ever hear you retired until someone is looking for you after you retired. It's just the nature of working for pricks and it seems like the pricks rise to the top in every division. I typically don't like to eat food that someone else brings from their house anyways. I see how they handle themselves at work and thought of eating anything they prepared from their house is enough to make me puke. Here's what I want for my birthday - just leave me the F**K alone.
