So Warden Troy Simpson has been Senior Warden at Jester 1, Carol Vance, and Jester III for a little while now and he's an excellent boss man if I had to say so myself. He came in giving us hell at first but for a good reason because Warden Hudspeth left a huge mess for Simpson to clean up. I truly enjoy working for Warden Simpson. He is funny, fair, and about his business. He is family oriented, and treats his staff as if he wants them to be comfortable around him instead of afraid, like the majority are. As an old-fashioned Texas Warden, Simpson wants the best for his employees. His standards are set extremely high and he will NEVER, EVER, settle for less than what it is expected. His mind frame and thought process is motivating because it teaches us that anything is possible.

You bucking for promotion? I've known Troy for quite a while. I like him. But, dayum! What'd he have for breakfast!!
I'm glad you like him, many folks do. And, like any other warden, there will be others with an opposing opinion. Don't be to surprised if someone comes on here and gives you heck about your post.

LolaBunny you are so funny--But you do know that the vast majority at the Jester Units would hardily disagree with you. He has people so upset that they a quitting, retiring early, getting sick to their stomachs of just the thought of coming to work, asking for regional and state help to deal with a major problem, and even going through the State Senator for help. Investigations are going on as we speak, and rightly so. Your comment actually sounds like it was written by Warden Simpson himself, to puff himself up. It doesn't sound natural at all. Warden Hudspeth was well liked and did a good job, only another Warden puffed up with personal pride would say such a thing about him. So while I respect your right to free speech, I must drastically disagree with you assessment, as it is not even close to reality--LoloaBunny whoever you are (or should I say, Mr. Warden,) because I think the Warden wrote his own (self glorification) comment under the LolaBunny disguise. --At any rate, we all have a right to our own opinion, and this is mine.

LMBO, see. I told you Lolabunny. I'm quite sure there are lots of folks who may agree with manfromthepast. Manfromthepast, I don't think ole Troy wrote the original post. I don't think he gives a hoot about these forums, or who reads them. I have an idea who wrote the post. I could be wrong, but I think I've worked with the person before. They are good people. I do think in their position they may not have the same perception as front line staff. Something to remember, there is no such thing as a perfect warden. They don't exist anymore. Hell, they never existed. Every warden has their way of running things. Some folks may like it, some won't. The key to surviving in this agency is learning to work with folks, whether you like them or not, whether you like their methods or not. And, if you can't work with them transfer, demote, or move on. And, here's something to think about. For those that say the region should get involved, or Huntsville should get involved. Who do you think promoted ole Troy? Yup, them folks in Huntsville. Wardens don't get to be where they are without having friends in high places. They get there because throughout their career somebody liked them enough to promote them up the ranks. Wardens are appointed. They don't go before a board. Hell, the directors already know them and what they can do by the time they get to the point of being appointed to senior warden, or even before then at assistant warden. From the time an employee hits the rank of major they are well known by the folks in Huntsville. To get that high they've been vouched for by high ranking staff. So, do you really think the folks in the regional office or Huntsville will really put the hammer down on ole Troy? Doubtful. Troy would have to be found to be committing some serious violations, violations that could be proven without any doubt. I don't think that's gonna happen. Troy's been around a long time. He knows the game. He knows how to take care of business. And, I don't think they'll catch him flat footed. I could be wrong. But, I don't think so.

LolaBunny got her promotion and was caught in the office with her savior. I know who you are, Lt. and I know what you did that night.

Kudos to Warden Simpson, or Lieutenant LolaBunny for his/her quality post. Those writing skills help explain how he/she made warden/lieutenant.

I know Warden Simpson and under his watch everybody is going to do Right inmates and officers! And you felt the need to post this why? Is 01 depressed? Are the big bad bosses and cons making him feel less than loved? Is he insecure in his daily routine? Does he suffer from receding hairline and dry skin? Don't fret. When you retire, and go out in search of your second, or perhaps, your third career, he will be off taking Swedish cruises and buying his and hers Sportsters.

You know, the thing I hated most about TDC, was the fact that it has so darned many suck ups, that just don't know how to do it correctly. It's a skill, a gift. It can be learned, but takes years of honing to get up there in the Admin offices. Very, very few CO's know how to do it properly. And when you see it,do improperly, it will just make you sad for them. That's why I left, I got so depressed, being so sad, so much of the time.

Simpson was a poor excuse of a Warden. Anyone who knew him or worked with him in any form knew of the poor excuse of leadership.
