I'm wondering if she was claiming workers comp. Or, was she just taking off using sick leave, and obtaining a doctors note. It would be interesting to know if she did get a doctors note, and whether the doctor would be charged with fraud as well.

She should claim the Work outs at Planet fitness was therapy.. They do have hydrotherapy Bed and Massage Chairs

Ain't that why the state has insurrance? To pay high medical costs for it's employees

Article mentioned she applied for employment at a unit in Oklahoma but never said whether she actually got the job and was therefore working at one unit in a different state while collecting FMLA in Texas. Anybody know?

How is this different than all those officers who go out to retire on Vacation and Sick leave time and collect a check? Was she collecting a Check for Injury or burning her time?

The officer who goes out on vacation and sick time before they retire are different because they accrued the time and have earned a check. When you go out on FLMA you are telling your employer that you are too hurt to do your job. I would like to know if she was processing paperwork to collect Workman's Comp. Why is she unable to do her job in Texas, but well enough to do the same job in Oklahoma? I bet that if she got away with it that she would have continued collecting the FMLA check and her paycheck in Oklahoma too.

FMLA doesn't guarantee you a check. It guarantee's that your employer must keep your job for you until you come back, for the period of time you're on FMLA. For you to get a check you must have time on the books, or be able to draw from the sick pool, or have someone donate sick time to your time balance. Without time on the books you will go off the books, and go without a check. FMLA just guarantee's you'll have a job to go back to.

Did they take away her time (Vacation, Sick, Comp, Holiday) to cover her shifts she missed? or Was She claiming that the So Called Injury occur on the job and she received a Check without using her time? How Many Officers retire early by racking up their Hours (a perk endorsed as an Employment Golden Ticket)...So They stack that sick time...then go out sick for Thousands of Hours collecting a check...meanwhile on shift they are not replaced because they are not "Officially" off the Books. To use up your sick time you have to call in sick and eventually have a doctor say your medically unfit to do your job indefinately
